Bahmni is a popular open source EMR favoured by hospitals and clinics worldwide. Bahmni provides freedom to customize the application as per client’s requirements. Further, the client is free to upgrade Bahmni when open source community releases latest versions. In addition, client keeps complete ownership of the data collected through the system.

Bahmni has great potential for private hospitals and clinics, providing substantial economic advantage compared to proprietary HMS and EMR products. As an AGPL licensed open source software, Bahmni does not need software licensing fees. Private hospitals could partner with a Bahmni implementation vendor and set up a world class hospital management system, by paying for only Bahmni implementation and support services.

As part of system set up, we always provide 6 months Bahmni implementation support, post system go-live. Further, organisations can sign up for annual maintenance contract for the regular upkeep of the Bahmni system and receive support for server outages, operational issues, natural disaster etc.

Support is usually rolled out at tiered levels, with level 1 support being always provided by the local support team. Issues that cannot be handled by local support team are forwarded to Nuchange support center. The local support team could be staffed either by client’s resources or by Nuchange staff.

Bahmni is a web application that can be deployed on cloud servers. A virtual private server from third party vendor like AWS, Google or Digital Ocean can be rented for this purpose. A new Bahmni instance of production quality could be brought up in as soon as 2 days. This could be used both for test and production purposes.
